Check it yourself
Check that an entry matches its fingerprint. Nothing leaves your device.
Quick check
Try the latest entry to see the result here.
To check against an earlier point in time, compare it with a copy you saved earlier or with the timestamp proof.
Compare with a copy you saved
Paste a saved record.json or its last chain fingerprint. This comparison stays on your device.
Paste, drop a file or use a standard tool
Check an exact file or object, use a standard tool, or inspect every check.
Check an exact fingerprint
Self-test
The checker reads one bounded JSON object locally in this browser.
Or drop a .json file here
Optional: paste a fingerprint you saved elsewhere to compare against it. Leave empty to check the entry against this site.
With a standard tool
- On a Mac or Linux:
shasum -a 256 entry.json - On Windows:
certutil -hashfile entry.json SHA256 - Chain step on a Mac or Linux:
printf '%s' '{previous chain fingerprint}:{entry fingerprint}' | shasum -a 256
Timestamp proofs
Each entry has a Bitcoin timestamp. Its proof is entry.json.ots. OpenTimestamps is an open, independent timestamping standard. Check a proof against the exact entry file with its standard tool. This page does not check proofs because that requires a network connection.
